Terms of Service

Autobooks is an online accounting platform for Indian businesses and their Chartered Accountants, operated by [ENTITY LEGAL NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS] (“Autobooks”, “we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between us and the business or person that creates an account (“you”). By creating an account or using Autobooks you accept these terms.

You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep your credentials secure. Where two-factor authentication is required for your role, you must keep your authenticator and recovery codes safe. You are responsible for activity under your account, and for ensuring the people you invite (staff, accountants) are authorised to see the data their role exposes.

All accounting data you enter, upload, or sync into Autobooks — vouchers, ledgers, invoices, bank statements, documents — belongs to your business. We claim no ownership of it. You grant us only the rights needed to operate the service: storing the data, processing it to provide features you use, and backing it up.

You can export your books at any time while your account is active. After account closure we will make your data available for export for 30 days, after which it is scheduled for deletion except where law requires longer retention.

If you connect the TallyEase desktop application, you authorise Autobooks to read data from, and where you instruct it, write data to, your Tally company files. Your Tally data remains the source of truth for synced books; you are responsible for running the sync against the correct Tally company.

Autobooks uses artificial-intelligence models to assist with tasks such as reading invoices, classifying bank transactions, and answering questions about your books. AI output is a suggestion, not professional advice: every AI-suggested entry is attributed, shown to you, and remains your responsibility to review. Statutory filings (GST, TDS, and others) prepared with Autobooks must be reviewed by you or your Chartered Accountant before submission — Autobooks is a tool, not your auditor or tax adviser.

You agree not to: use Autobooks for unlawful purposes; attempt to access another tenant’s data; probe, overload, or disrupt the service; resell access without our written agreement; or upload malicious content. We may suspend accounts that put other customers’ data or the service at risk, and will tell you why.

Features marked as paid require a subscription at the prices shown at the time of purchase. Prices may change with at least 30 days’ notice, taking effect from your next billing period. Taxes such as GST apply as per law. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where these terms or the law say otherwise.

We work to keep Autobooks available and your data safe — including daily backups and monitored infrastructure — but no online service can promise uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance will be scheduled outside Indian business hours where practical.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claims arising out of or relating to Autobooks in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for penalties arising from filings you or your advisers approved. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

You may close your account at any time. We may terminate with 30 days’ notice, or immediately for material breach of these terms. Section 3’s export window applies either way.

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 15 days before they take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [CITY] have exclusive jurisdiction.
